So lately I have been getting into social networking, as I’m sure you know. I’m pretty sick of seeing all these spam posts and tweets. As a matter of fact I don’t even go to twitter anymore because there is way to much spam going on. You cant even carry on a decent conversation with someone without felling like a customer at Wal-mart. So my advice is, to find a new way to make a connection with your target market. Enjoy!

Lately I have been working away (as usual). I took a little time of the web work though, to risk my life three stories up in the air on a ladder to wash windows for my step dads company. The things I will do for money…..wow! But thats is now over with and I can continue my journey online.

1) The first thing I have been focusing on lately is upping the conversion ratio on LeeWai media. You see I have been tracking the site with analytics and I am proud to say, it gets a consistent number of hits per day. So what seems to be the problem you ask? Well the problem happens to be that no one is actually buying once they get to my site.I put a lot of time into the first design, but I will admit I was pretty worried about how I wanted it to look. That my friends is completely wrong. I have came to the conclusion that it simply doesn’t matter what you (or I in my case) think, because you are not going to be buying from yourself ever. So now I am in the process of making the site convert better. I don’t really care how it looks, but I have been doing my research and have came up with a pretty good blueprint that I am sure will work better (or at least thats my hopes). I also need to continue marketing the site so I will be the first link in Google when someone searches my term. It has been said that around sixty percent of traffic stops at the first site or link in a search engine, I don’t know if thats completely true but it definitely seems plausible.

2) The second objective I have been working on is starting on my entrepreneurial side. I have been researching niches that have little competition in Google, but at the same time have a nice traffic flow and a good profit margin. It is very difficult to find a good niche but it can be done if executed correctly. I also found a great tool that allows me to test out these niches almost free of charge (sorry trade secret). Once they have been live long enough and I have done a sufficient amount of marketing I will pick my best candidate according to my analytics. I know that more than half of these niches will fail miserably but thats all part of the job, haha.

3) The last thing I have been working towards is marketing or networking myself. I have to get my name out there, because its WHO you know, not WHAT you know, at least thats what I’m told. My buddy Jon has gotten me into going to an internet marketing meet-up that takes place in Rexberg Idaho every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. I have actually started blogging about what goes on, please check it out and if you would like to join please contact me and I will let you know all the details. Anyways, I have been obtaining as many Twitter and Facebook friends as I can possibly get my hands on. One of my business partners actually has my account hooked up to some program that gets you tons of twitter followers so I don’t really have to do much work, its great! I have also learned a few tricks about how to work your way into great business relationships with important people you meet on these social networking sites. Spamming is not the way to go, rather than that try presenting yourself as an individual that is wiling to help or assist in some way. That makes creating a tight nit relationship easier on you. Then you simply imply your business slowly and try to push your services or products. Take that info. and run with it (if you want)!!

The example that was used was venturing into penny stocks. Now as the instructor suggested, it is probably not a wise idea to pursue this niche for various reasons. One of the biggest being that they are absolutely hit and miss. You can be a “BIG STAR” one minute and in the slums naked the next.

We were shown various websites that carry a ton of pre-designed templates that were targeted for affiliates. The advice was to go this route because its quick and easy. The next step (following researching a good niche of coarse) is to start an add campaign. When it comes to affiliates, AdSense if a great way to go because it is instant and you will quickly know if your niche is cut out or not. If you are not quite into affiliates (like me then I would suggest SEO as your marketing strategy, especially for eCommerce. If you choose less competitive niches in your research process, then it is cheap to rank with SEO. Plus people trust the “natural” links more than the “sponsored” links anyways. If yu set yourself a financial goal of maybe $50 to $100 to spend on marketing, then you wont break the bank when you fail. Notice I said WHEN not IF because it is bound to happen eventually and theres really no way around it, so don’t get discouraged.

There are a lot of tools out there that will assist us in starting these experimental sites that you may not know about, I know I found multiple sites/tools today at the meet-up. The conclusion I came to this week is, All it takes is a little determination and a lot of JUST DO IT!

When you post on craigslist you need to keep a check and balance between attractive nice looking ads and ads which have high survival probability. Highly HTML decorated nice looking ads may catch more visitors but may reduce the probability of going live, at the same time.

Following are some tips for writing a good ad for posting on craigslist.org:

- Avoid HTML unless you are posting under the services section. Plain text ads increase the possibility of going live.

- Avoid hyperlink to an website. Put the domain name as text without www. or put it into an image.

Lately I have been trying to create a few different styles of ads, to post on craigslist. I am rather new when it comes to consistent posting, so I wanted to figure out just how to go about it correctly. So… When I found this post I had to share it because it taught me some things that i didn’t know, and it corrected a few things that I though exactly opposite about. The best way to get lots of followers and dedicated consumers is to help out, answer questions and give tips and pointers. You should be sending more reply s than anything else. Once you become noticed as a helpful benefit then you will be taken more seriously and you will have a bigger impact once it comes time to market your business.

I had set expectations to work for myself by the end of this year, but for the past little while that is exactly what I have been doing. I still help my father out when he needs it but my business is taking off better than I expected which makes it a lot easier to put in long hours everyday. I have still been expanding my knowledge of web design and internet marketing, learning new things everyday. To start off I have moved residences again haha.. I guess I cant make up my mind where i want to reside.

Second I have been working extra hard on my company and have simply not had time to blog. It may not be a great excuse but its all I got.

Lately I have exceeded the knowledge and experience I thought I would have by now. I have been venturing into multiple different business opportunities. I have also networked myself to many great connections I plan to work with for years to come. My mind is all about dough right now. I still have a full time job. Except I have switched dads haha. You see I was working for my step dad for some time, but unfortunately he ran out of work so I moved to my real dad. Who luckily for me had enough work to keep me busy. My occupation is now finish carpenter/ cabinet builder. Its an okay job I guess. The best thing is that every morning I wake up and don’t want to go to work it only makes me work harder on my real dream or web design, marketing, and entrepreneur.

I realize however that I need to keep up on blogging, so that I will do. I hope to blog a few times a month about what I am doing and all the new fun and interesting things I learn everyday. Hopefully it will help all my readers to prosper in life somehow.

As of the first of 2010 things are going to change though I will be starting on my business and I will be working at least twenty hours during the week on my computer and at least six on the weekends. I don’t find that to be a hard goal to meet and in fact I would rather just work double that and more than likely will. My roommate has a goal of being worth a million by age 25. He is 22 now and he makes very good money. He works all the time and has amazing ideas so I believe that he will meet this goal. I have decided to start the same goal as of today and I will be doing everything in my power to make sure that i achieve that goal. I seem to find him very inspirational in the weirdest (or perhaps best) of times haha. So that’s all i really have to say. Its time to get down to business. Be easy!

I have also started trying new ways to network myself and get my name and my talent out to the public a little more. So far I have about three to four new projects that I will creating for clients that I have met locally. I have been researching all the specs of the products I will be selling and its surprising how good they seem to be. I would have never thought of any of the things I’m about to invest in. Which is the key, if you can come up with a nitch that is low pro. but sells like crazy you have yourself a gold mine. You can find these thing out with Adwords Tool and Yahoo link check. My roommate has stumbled across a few of these mines himself and has been raking in over half his income with them. That’s what I love best about this job is the time it takes to come up with something creative and exciting. You never know what is going to happen either… how its gunna go. You could strike it rich or you could go broke and spend money on nothing. I’m still a little worried on how my current sites are going to do. Although research says they should succeed with virtually no problems. Anyone out there who has great nitch ideas please feel free to fill me in, I have a small bunch myself that I will have no time to get to.

My friend Twyla Blue is in town for a few weeks. I’m glad she could finally make it down because now I have all the hemp accessories that she has been working on, and I can take pics and upload them to the site I made with her. She does some pretty neat stuff I might add.. she is making me a necklace for helping her and its turning out sick.

Seeing as how the holidays are finally here I will have a little more time to work on my sites, especially during the breaks like this week… I only work today and tomorrow and I have the rest of the week and weekend to work online and I should get a sufficient amount of work done. at least I plan to

I’m about to edit the product page of all my sites so that they look more appealing to my customers. The problem is that I have to research how exactly to do it because my roommate doesn’t know how, and no one else I have asked has heard of it either. I do have a few reliable sources to look into though which is what I have been doing the past few days. Once I get the product pages the way that I want them everything should be finished and ready for managing.. which means I can then move on to bigger and better things.

Okay so last thing… While I was with Jon tonight, we were talking about one of his C.O.D. buddies that has just sold his company for big money. He said that he built it from scratch and it was an affiliate tracking system that allowed you to keep track of many different affiliate companies at once. He said the trick to his success was no trick at all, he worked 18 hour days and suffered for two years so that he would be able to survive comfortably. I kinda took that to hart cause for a while I started wondering if all the big wigs just got a big break that I was never going to get. I felt like my effort wasn’t going to pay off in the end but now I look at it a little differently. After hearing that it makes me want to work my ass off and buckle down for the next few years so I can do the same thing he did. I’m still waiting for that big failure or setback that I should be getting haha… maybe ill get lucky who knows. Be easy!
