Macromedia Fireworks
So today was a good day as far as work goes. I finished all the pages in one of my new e-commerce sites. Now, all I need to do is write up a sales letter for my writer to translate into perfection. I reached all my previous goals and am very satisfied about it. Something I learned during my journey is that I am using alot of software that I never thought I would need to use. It doesn’t bother me at all it is just surprising. One of the best software I have used so far is Adobe’s Fireworks.
Fireworks was originally designed my Marcomedia before it was bought out by Abode. It was basically photoshop for Macromedia software. And its a truly amazing software if you ask me. I used fireworks to do some design work on the header of this site actually. It allows you to crop, lighten, blur, paint, and even ad text to any photo you upload. It has a very basic setup as well, you have a sidebar on the left that list all the tools you can use. It has a canvas where all the images will go. On the right it has a menu bar with options ranging from layers to colors to even assets. On the bottom portion of the screen is a menu bar that allows you to change colors, fonts, and font sizes. Almost all the tabs and tools have different options that allow you to change them up a little bit. It allows you to manage all your projects and and it comes with a tutorial on how to optimize the software as a whole. Although it does take some time to get used to, it is my choice when it comes to messing with images and headers, which is why i decided to blog about it. Unfortunately Adobe doesn’t offer fireworks anymore because they have photoshop to replace it. So in order to use it you would have to have Macromedia’s web design package that was produced about five years ago. Be easy!
Future goals I have set.
1) upload all the product images to my sites
2) fill my sites with content
3) market as much as possible
4) boost site visits to this site
