First of all WOW.. I cant believe that this actually goes on in this planet of ours. In my eyes that is an inhuman move on their part, Dolphins are special creatures that are viewed by most as the second smartest species on earth second only to us of coarse. If you don’t believe me look up some other videos on YouTube about Dolphins. After about two videos you cant help but to fall in love.
Now here is the really messed up part about the hole thing. I just want to add that if there was a real legitimate reason or purpose for this mass slaughter to occur I might be able to understand a little more. But just a lesson in science real fast….
We (as the human race) burn fossil fuels to produce energy to support our controlled environment in many different ways. What happens when we burn these fossil fuels? Well they put off emissions, which just so happen to be full of mercury. Mercury is POISONOUS for humans to consume. So what happens is this mercury is deposited into the air but since it is heavier than air it will soon fall to the earth once it cools. Since we have a large amount of factory’s that bun fossil fuels next to the ocean this means…yes it means that a lot of this mercury falls into the water.
Now on a molecular level this mercury is consumed by micro organisms as a food source. At this point the food chain diagram kicks into play. The micro organisms are consumed by bigger organisms and so on until yup you guessed it, the dolphins finally consume the organism or fish that has way back in the beginning of the food chain diagram consumed this mercury. So it is apparent that the dolphin would contain mercury as well. Well in fact since the dolphin is at the top of the water food chain that means they consume the most amount of it. Studies show that dolphin meat has about twenty times what a human should consume of mercury per single measurement. So if you eat a full steak of dolphin meat, it is like millions of times to poisonous for you to consume. Mercury poison can leave people severely damaged, especially pregnant mothers. It will affect their fetas more than them.
So what am I getting at you ask?? As amazing as this is going to sound they (Japan) actually feeds their citizens this meat!!!!! WHAT!!!! But its too dangerous to eat you said. Yes I did so in order to sell it they must disguise it as say… whale meat ( which is considered a delicacy). They do not have a FDA in their country which is why this can happen. So there are more and more cases every year of mercury poison in Japan and there are more and more kids being born with birth defects to the point that they will never be able to take care of themselves ever.
AND ALL FOR WHAT?!?!?!?! Just to make a quick buck?
